Dr. Eugenia Piliotis holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from McMaster University and earned her MD from Western University in 1997. She completed core training in Internal Medicine at Western before moving to Toronto in 2000 for Hematology specialty training. She completed a lymphoma fellowship at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in 2003 and obtained a Master’s in Medical Education from OISE at the University of Toronto in 2004. In recognition of her creative professional activity in education, she was promoted to Associate Professor at the University of Toronto in 2015. Dr. Piliotis joined the oncology staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in 2004 as a member of the Hematology Site Group, where she practiced until 2022. She then moved to Kingston to join Kingston Health Sciences Centre and the Department of Oncology at Queen’s University.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Piliotis has held numerous leadership roles, including Academy Director for the Peters Boyd Academy in the University of Toronto MD Program, Hematology Program Director at UofT, and Chair of the Royal College Hematology Specialty Committee. She also served as Coordinator of the University of Toronto Department of Medicine collaboration with Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and as a Medical Advisor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Her academic interests focus on medical education and global health, while her clinical practice specializes in lymphoma, with a particular focus on cutaneous lymphoma. In April 2022, Dr. Piliotis assumed the role of Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education at Queen’s University.
