
Dr. Ben J. Friedman is a dermatologist and dermatopathologist affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in dermatopathology at Thomas Jefferson University, before returning to Henry Ford Hospital as a senior staff member.
Dr. Friedman’s clinical and academic work focuses on dermatopathology, clinicopathologic correlation, and cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders. He devotes much of his time to interpreting routine and complex skin biopsy specimens and collaborating closely with clinicians to guide optimal patient management. He is actively involved in multidisciplinary care through the Henry Ford Cutaneous Oncology Tumor Board and a monthly Cutaneous Lymphoma Conference, working alongside medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists. His research interests include identifying novel molecular changes and immunophenotypes in skin neoplasms and inflammatory dermatoses to support personalized treatment approaches.
