Dr. Yang Wang is the department chair and professor in the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Peking University First Hospital in Beijing, China. She leads the hospital’s Skin Lymphoma Group and is one of the country’s leading experts in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Dr. Wang has built China’s largest group of patients with this rare disease and is now developing a national registry to help improve care across the country. She completed her medical training at Peking University and a fellowship in skin cancer at the University of British Columbia in Canada. Her work has been recognized with several national and international awards. She serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphomas.

💭 What are you passionate about in medicine or recreationally? I always want to be a physician-scientist, and research is my greatest passion in medicine. Being a dermatopathologist has helped me achieve this dream. I am deeply passionate about unraveling the pathophysiology and molecular mechanisms behind the histological changes seen in various skin diseases.
🏆 A short story or academic achievement you are proud of: I am proud to have published the 5-year survival rate for CTCL in China. This was achieved after establishing the country’s largest CTCL patient cohort and conducting over 15 years of follow-up. This was the first data in China, providing valuable insights into this disease across countries and ethnicities.
