
Dr. Steven T. Rosen serves as Executive Vice President and Director Emeritus of the Beckman Research Institute at City of Hope, where he is also Professor of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and holds the Schwartz Endowed Professorship in Duarte, California. A graduate of Northwestern University’s prestigious Six-Year Honors Program, he completed his residency at Northwestern and a medical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. From 1989–2014, he led the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University.
A leading figure in research of hematologic malignancies and experimental therapeutics, Dr. Rosen has received extensive federal and foundation funding and has published more than 500 scientific papers. He serves as editor-in-chief of Cancer Treatment and Research, has advised over two dozen NCI Comprehensive Cancer Centers, and has held key leadership roles within the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Conquer Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Rosen’s distinguished career has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award (2015), Giants of Cancer Care Award (2021), the Excellence in Scientific Service Award from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (2023), induction into the City of Hope Scientific Research Portrait Gallery of Honor (2024), and inclusion among the Top Doctors in Los Angeles (2025).
